Guided Tour Reservations

You can book a guided tour of the zoo every day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. by calling Alma Moštrokol at the phone number +386 (0)1 24 42 180 or any time by e-mail. Guided tours are free of charge and are being offered to organized groups of school children and preschoolers. Guided tours can be arranged for other groups as well. Guided tours can be held in the English language as well. Special guided tours for families (extra charge).

How to book a guided tour?

1. Making or canceling a reservation should be done by one person or the group leader to avoid confusion; this person will then inform everyone else in the group. 

2. Know the date and time of the requested visit. We suggest you allow a minimum of three hours to visit the entire zoo.

3. Inform us on the number of school classes or visitors as well as their ages. We accept a maximum of 30 visitors per group. The groups should be formed before arrival at the zoo. Plan snack/lunch and play breaks ahead of time in order for the group to be ready for its guided tour on time. In case of late arrival your guided tour will have to be cut short.

4. The guided tour duration is 55 minutes. After admissions have been paid, you will wait for your tour guide at the platform in front of the administration building. During the guided tour you will get to know three or four animals. Half of the time is being spent handling tamed animals; the other half is being spent observing some animals in their enclosures. The rest of the zoo you will explore on your own, without a guide. 5. In accordance with the elementary school curriculum we have prepared three lessons per elementary school grade, which can be carried out at the Ljubljana Zoo. The teachers can choose between programs; additionally, we can prepare special programs that fit your wishes and/or the goals of the curriculum.
