Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there an ATM machine Ljubljana Zoo?
At the entrance of Ljubljana Zoo there is a NLB (New Ljubljana Bank) ATM machine. You can pay with credit cards.
2. Are visitors allowed to feed the animals?
We request that the visitors do not feed the animals on their own account. The animals are being fed special meals containing defined amounts, quality, and types of feed. Too much of the same feed can be fatal for animals. In order to stay in control of the nutrition the animals receive, the visitors wishing to feed them can purchase food coupons.
3. Is parking free?
There are three parking areas available to visitors of Ljubljana Zoo free of charge.
4. Is Ljubljana Zoo accessible to visitors in wheelchairs?
The lower part of the zoo is quite flat and wheelchair accessible. Only the upper part of the zoo, where the native animals are being kept, is not appropriate for wheelchair use. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet located at the entrance.
5. Is the Zoo going to introduce itself at schools?
There are a few smaller sized animals at Ljubljana Zoo that can be held. However, we do not take them to schools. We are inviting schools to visit the zoo, where they can meet and get a broader and better understanding of many different species belonging to the animal kingdom.
6. Do you care for injured wild animals at the zoo?
Since 2003 we no longer have a shelter for wild animals at the zoo. If you find an injured or sick animal, you need to call the shelter for wild animals in Kranj at the phone number (031) 813 097.
